The anatomy of the lower back and pelvis is complex.  The pelvic ligaments are important stabilizers that transfer energy from the upper torso to the lower extremities with significant force.  Common injuries of the pelvic ligaments occur from pregnancy, gynecologic surgeries, heavy lifting, or even direct trauma - such as a sports-related impact.  The resulting lower back, buttock, and pelvic pain can be debilitating!

Pelvic Floor Physical Therapist

Dr. Marisa Raguso, PT, DPT is a pelvic floor and orthopedic physical therapist. She is an expert in female pelvic health conditions, including but not limited to diastasis recti, incontinence, pelvic pain, and postpartum rehabilitation. Dr. Marisa believes in holistic, whole-body treatment for an elevated level of care to get to the root cause of pelvic floor dysfunction. Her approach includes hands-on bodywork, intentional movement, and education to provide her clients with a deep understanding of their body to resolve their symptoms. Her compassionate and gentle nature cultivates a safe space for her clients to feel supported, validated, and heard.
